Does anyone knows why they can`t do something similar for MacOS X? Anyway I`ll be glad to see it ported on AmigaOS 4.0

But the real question is:  When will AmigaOS 4.0 run on the Amiga One?

I don't want a Mac.  If I did, I'd have one already.

Re: MOL can feasibly run OS X

I checked on the MOL development list, and a message in the archives says plainly that it is possible to add OS X support, just that the author does not think that its needed (because until now the only people using this software were those on PPC macs that alrady run OS X). He has put this feature on the back burner for now. But if enough Amigans desire this software, i'd bet that this feature would be added pretty quickly.

I cant find the original post where I saw this info, (it was a post about what features to concentrate on for the future) but here is another post with similar info. http://maconlinux.org/lists/mol-general/July01/0060.html

Awesome!!

I don't want a Mac either, but being able to run Mac, under Linux on an A1G3SE with a boot manager(mostly booting into OS4.0) will fill in the gaps of software missing on the Amiga platform.

1 computer(A1G3) + 3 OS'es via a boot manager(OS4.0/LinuxPPC/MacOS) = No reason or need for M$ Wintendo!! YEAAAA! :-D
Someone has to state the obvious and that someone is me!

>Three OS on Amiga One G3-SE

Hi
I hope they can run Six and half OS (Semi OS): DOS, MS Windows (BOSCH X86 emulator),  BSD (NetBSD, Apple Darwin) and Amiga DE (hosted / Semi OS).

Unfortunately BeOS is already dead, therefore it is impossible to port it to Amiga One.

My concern:
* What about speed / benchmark?
* What about application compatibility?
* Is Mac Applications need special feature / chipset that only available on PowerMac / iMac motherboard?

Yes, I did. Look at the forums the MOL and yellow dog threads.

Now for a sneak peak from ackcontrols AmigaOne G3 SE Dev machine.

OK my first post here though I've been visiting Amiga.org daily for 5 years...

Anyway, my question: Would it reasonable to expect sequencers like Cubase or Logic to run on top of A1->YDL->MOL ??

OK I guess they'll run for sure but will it be of any use? I don't know what soundcards A1 supports, I vaguely remember somebody raving on about SB Live but that isn't really of any use with Cubase (due to the horrible latency).

A (working) harddisk recording solution running on a brand new A1 would be nice....  :-)
