AmigaOne in Toulouse
« on: June 16, 2002, 01:20:52 AM »
There will be a demonstration by Eyetech's Alan Redhouse of the AmigaOne G3-SE on Sunday 23rd June at the great summer Amigafest Amigabastringue.

This is a developer board, exactly the same as the boards that will be sold with AOS4.0

Alan also has a surprise in store. You'll have to come to the meet for details, but this is definitely a 'be there or be square' occasion.

See this site (in French) for further details and instructions on how to get to the party.

"I find your lack of faith disturbing"

Hey, if you don't really care. Then don't worry about it. Just go on your merry way and do whatever makes you happy. Don't concern yourself so much with what may or will happen and only take interest in what has or did happen.
We'll know in a week. Until then, not much to talk about. Probably, just a look it's real, it works.

Oi! That's my joke! Gizzit back.

Signed,

Anyway, Mr 4play, who said Alan Redhouse was taking the mobo away afterwards? It gets handed over to the person who ordered it. Who will be at the meet. Nyah

yes.
Are you even half-heartedly suggesting that more than 200 developer boards have gone out and no one has openly admitted to receiving them, let alone creating tutorials on building a dev system.

Do we have a reliable source on the number of boards sold?

I think demostrations such as these are becoming un neccessary. Amiga computers un that thrilling as they used to be. Now they use standard parts that everyone is well aware of (or will be) and well aware of what they can do. So while this is the new Amiga, every other amiga will be fairly similar so i would think Amiga showcasing will start to die in the near future.

That is of course when their not showing AmigaOS. This i believe would be the only reason they would show case the Amiga computers in the future. The AmigaOS will be new with ever revision and be improved by something. The hardware wont need to be showcased by Amiga companies, they'll prolly be showcased at the manufactorers own hardware shows.

I hope they could run a beta of AmigaOS4 or even Alpha :) - But thats right, AmigaOS for Blizzard is com'n out first (or was that cyberstorm?) so i doubt it would be able to.

That's a hell of a lot to read into one little word.

Précision: Yes, there are developer boards out there.
Yes, no-one has openly admitted to receiving them - except Computer City. They don't want to be harassed by email (or any other medium).

No, I'm not saying how many, either ordered or delivered.

Hmm i bet there is not more then perhaps 50? boards out there! and since NO ONE (i dont count computer city) has admitted to receiving them i guess no end users have received any! and then its back to me having doubts about the whole thing again.
