The BBC covers Mozilla

The BBC news site covers the emergence of the Open Source browser, Mozilla and interestingly enough, hints of how the open source movement is a threat to Microsoft.

Read the story on:- http://news.bbc.co.uk/hi/english/sci/tech/newsid_1949000/1949143.stm

"Up from the depths
 Thirty stories high
Breathing fire, his head in the sky
 Mozilla!
 Mozilla!"

Don't know about a port. Seems like it would be abit much. Gecko might be nice. Something like K-meleon, maybe.

Compared to Opera, Mozilla is as slow as turtle :)

BBC Clickonline had featured Opera as the fastest graphic browser. For faster browser use Lynx text browser.

Invisible Hands, the former financial supporter of Amiga Inc, is also the same company who supported Espial Escape browser (Java).

I just have to say that I like the open source movement and all but, saying that it's a threat to M$ is going a bit far.

As much as I dislike M$, they do have a crap load of capita on hand.  Last estimate was 40 billion in liquid assests alone.  I mean ####!  No matter how hard a company tries to take them out, they have the money to by them 100 times over.  :-(

The only way to defeat M$ is too convince ppl that they would be better off with another product.  And in the US that's just about imposible right now.  But, ppl are starting to wake up a bit in the home markets.  It's getting the business markets thats the key.

i'm by no means a M$ supporter but, I see thier influence everyday in my line of work.  They just have too much damn cash and that SUCKS!

I hope and pray the US justice department gets to break them up but, in the way they are planning, it could make them even stronger.

Enough of this ramble.  That's just my 2 cents.  And I pray M$ goes up in a big mushroom cloud!

But on a final note... no pun intended.

GO, GO... Mozilla! :-D

This isn't a troll or flame bait, just an opinion on the current market.

Yo,

I've just installed Mozilla 1.0 over Mozilla 1.0 arsey-3.  Then I checked out the "PNG Alpha Masks and changing of image opacity through CSS" demo...

Wow, that is cool.  I'm a bit of a web-developer and appreciate that kind of thing.

Check it out  :-D
