At .GFX-BASE you can read a Q&A session with Darius Brewka. He is the author of AmiStart, a startmenu-launchbar bursting with features. The new version, which he is developing at the moment really kicks - and you get this great software for free!

We thought you should know what you can expect to download on Aminet soon. Here's our Q&A session with Darius including lots of infos and details aswell as exclusive screenshots! An english and (original)german version is online!

Also, there's a new vote at GFX-BASE in which we ask you if you think AmigaOS.4.0 should be available for the Pegasos

That is a nice looking workbench. Those gadgets look very professional. They should make that the default for OS 4.0. The standard OS 3.9 gadgets look dated and ugly.

The fact of the matter is, it doesnt matter all that much if we want pegasos to run AmigaOS 4 or not. The thing is, Amiga Inc dont care what hardware runs their OS, as long as it meets their standards.

Obviously Bplan dont like the idea of signing the Amiga Licenece thingo, which is alright.

Maybe we need to convince Bplan that the board should support OS4?!!

Maybe Bplan should take preorders for the pegasos and OS4 (no money involved but credit card details will be taken) and if enough people preorder the board with OS4, then those orders will be made and if not, they will not be made!!!

As long as AInc calls bPlan thieves (MorphOS = bPlan) and
wants insight in bPlans finicial status-> its not gone happen.

Seehunds petition made much more sense on this topic.

Oh just before I forget this:
bPlan sees OS4 as just another OS like Linux,BSD or QNX but
won't give it any special status.

Possible futures:

1)The Pegasos is made available later this month and gets good sells.
a)OS4 is finished later this year and good enough to be of interest
for many Peg-owners -> it will be sold seperatly to win over MorphOS.
b)OS4 is of no interest to most Peg-owners.

2)The Pegasos is released but MorphOS is halted through legal action.
->No Pegasos will be sold in the "Amiga"-market.
->Most of those who wanted one will be pissed of by AInc and lost
as potential OS4-customers.

3)The Pegasos is not released.
A minority of those who wanted one will buy an A1, but the majority
will buy nothing and eventually leave the "Amiga".
1. Make an announcment.
2. Wait a while.
3. Check if it can actually be done.
4. Wait for someone else to do it.
5. Start working on it while giving out hillarious progress-reports.
6. Deny that you have ever announced it
7. Blame someone else
