But when will they show (by a beta or public demonstration) the important part of any OS ?
When will we see Amiga-apps on-top of ExecSG without the need for an 68k (except booting), or when will we see it for the first time on the A1 ?
Kronos, i think your expecting far too much... Truly the best part about AmigaOS4 is that it actualy exists and is improving.
The second best part about AmigaOS4 is that its running on new hardware - or at least WILL run on new hardware when its done.
Yes, theres a third best thing, and that is, its just the start, its pathing the way for future versions of AmigaOS. From the very start of this project, we were told now to expect to much, already my expectations have been blown. Maybe their too low?
Its not important if AmigaOS4 does not capture the sigh of consumers out side of our niche market, not doubt thats what OS5 aims to do. OS4 is to only satisfy us, not make the hords of linux geeks, MOS geeks or anyother type of geeks drop their jaws in one large gasp... Its only to modernise the OS - which means, they're only trying to please the current community.
Surly OS4 will bring back some people who disearted the Amiga a while ago, but its only to help the current Amiga market keep interested and realise that our OS is getting better, slowly.
It wont happen over night, but it will happen :-D
