Someone at The Register Certainly keeps tabs on us Amiga folk. Check out the link above to see what they are reporting.

The Register is also available as a US version at:

Heh, I thought that Ben shouldn't have posted those comments quite yet because nothing has been announced. You would think that a comment in a flamefest on ANN would not get picked up, but it did!

Well any publicity is good at least people are hearing the word Amiga more.

Sort of subliminal conditioning  :-D

I'm absolutely stunned to see a post on an obscure Amiga related forum pop up on the Register.

I will need to watch what I post very, very carefully in the future.

Never in my wildest dreams did I think that Amiga OS 4 would attract such mainstream attention.

The Register is read by hundreds of thousands of IT professionals and enthusiasts every day.
II don't have an anti nVidia biais BTW, I just pointed out that the balance of power can shift very rapidly indeed.

A point which was well taken by the Register editor.

This kind of thing is mainly why I want OS4 and the A1, and not any other solutions. AInc is very amibitious and keeps a keen eye on new events all the time. Its competitor IMHO does not.

Based on the flash animation on matrox.com, in under 4 days they will be releasing something new, with plenty of promo for it all around their website. So obviously it's something -big-.

So when will Amiga buy out Matrox?

Then we'll own a graphics company to create propriotary hardware.

Actually on the other hand why don't we port the OS to fastest super computer currently available. That way Amiga is way ahead of everyone in terms of software and hardware.

the only problem is that the computer would cost $4 million dollars.

damn!!

'Amiganauts' ?
Never heard that one before - at first glance I thought it said
'Amiganuts' ;-)

Good coverage at any rate! Ben didn't see that one coming!

Hopefully around the time Hyperion buys out Firaxis and Squaresoft...keeping my fingers crossed! :-)

Glad to see some more good PR. I think we've got a chance at getting it right this time...

Yeah...That was the first thing I thought when Ben made the comment on Ann, but I figured it would blow past and any forthcoming announcements would be made without someone bringing attention to it.  Hope this don't cause him any problems or setbacks, as everyone seems to be quoting him on their web sites.

I don't know how much (if any or all) of the "hoax" specs are accurate, but if Matrox have a card that is comparable to or better than a top of the line GeForce, then I'll be happy.   And you know, Ben is right.  A couple of years ago 3Dfx was "King of the Hill".  Games were constantly geared towards their hardware.  Now nobody even recognizes 3Dfx (as they were bought out by nVidia)  Matrox or ATI could very well come up with "The Next Big Thing"(tm).
