follow this Link from Theregister to find out more about the open source office suite "Open Office 1.0"

In the documentation you will find  the following minimum spec for installing of the PPC version:

Linux PowerPC
Linux Kernel version 2.2.13 or higher
glibc2 version 2.2 or higher
Macintosh PowerPC, IBM RS/6000, Motorola PreP or other Linux compatible PowerPC based hardware
96 MB RAM
250 MB available hard disk space
X Server with 800x600 or higher resolution, with at least 256 colors
Window Manager  :-)

/Finally/ the maths editor is useable.

Yay! No reason to use word now. Now I've mastered Debian I have no need to use windows at all - I can run PSpice 9.1 from wine, as with IE6.
