X-Box prices drop in Europe six weeks after launch
« on: April 18, 2002, 10:15:50 PM »
Microsoft has dropped the price of their X-Box game console in Europe only six weeks after launching the system, which has seen lackluster sales in Europe and Japan so far. U.S. sales figures are being tightly held by Microsoft, but are expected to be closer to what Microsoft had forecasted. Read about Microsoft's X-Box troubles here.

Isnt going to well for the xbox is it ive tried the demo machines in a few places a to be honest the 700mhz pentium powerd machine seems very slow compared to the playstion 2 .
Just goes to prove the point bigger and faster does not mean better. To  be honest the nintendo gamecube looks like it has much better graphics also it will have more original games not just pc games weather it will be any good is another thing .
I once had an amigaone xe but sold it .

I don't see the point of the X-Box. It's a PC with a funky modified Windows. My primary game machine is a Windows box(uuugh), why would I want an X-box?
Someone has to state the obvious and that someone is me!

because it plugs into your TV so you can actually play games from your bed - I had so much fun playing Project Gotham racing is not funny. I had a PS2 but sold it recently (pretty crap compared to this) and now the X BOX has dropped in price I'll certainly get one.

It doesn't run windows, it runs a version of its kernel, that much is true - but vastly cut back. This results in more clock cycles for the game rather than for the OS - Hence bloody good game play on a 700 Mhz machine.

Yep, me too.  And the X-box controllers are horrible.  The worst I've seen since the Atari Jaguar.  I've seen long load times on games for XB where the GameCube on the other hand seems almost instant in loading, and the controller is smaller (similiar to PS/PS2)

Yeah, come on walibe! You can't stray from the cult! Be a good sheep and come back to this cozy flock where we judge technology only based on its manufacturer's name and dismiss any technological aspects!
:-P

I may think that the X-Box sucks, and I do think that Microsoft is evil, but I wouldn't say that the X-Box sucks only because Microsoft is evil.
