Amiga 1200 case (Stainless, brushed steel)

If anyone are interested, i'm making Amiga 1200 cases in Stainless, brushed steel on request. Your logo or name can also be cut out. On my personal case, (which you can se on picture below) i have 3 blue led's  making my logo blue and "shiny" in the dark :-)

Do you do them in mirror type chrome effect?

Hi there.

The case is cut with industry laser, so there is no "steel debris" to cut your fingers on :-)

It's important that you understand that my company "ShowOff Media" doesn't usually produce these cases, but i needed one myself, and i have had some requests by other people who wanted one, so i decided to make them available for those who want one. The only "guarantee" i give on this product, is that your motherboard will fit.

I have soldered on 2 blue leds to where the original leds used to be (Power and HD), and it all works nice. I have also soldered 3 blue leds behind the cut-out logo, so it glows blue in the dark.

The case doesn't support internal floppy, external through the external floppy port only. All the ports on the backside plus pcmcia ar available from the outside. If you want to upgrade ram, change accelerator, etc. You'll have to open the case (You just slide the top cover off)

Slot for cd-rom will be fixed, but then you probably want room for both a harddrive 3,5" and a small psu?

This is what would IMO be an awesome project and you could make a lot of $$$ if you tried to do it:

* A1200D case (slightly larger than original, but still keeping the same old feel and style)
* Slot for a CD drive
* Slot for a Floppy drive
* Bracket for mounting either a 2.5" or 3.5" hard drive
* Room and cooling conditions for BlizzardPPC & BvisionPPC
* Extra hole(s) for a VGA out and FF/SD out ports
* Dedicated area for mounting cooling fans

Think of the possibilities!  8-)

A similar design would also be useful for an all-in-one Amiga-esque looking PC

its always about stainless steel, how about wood ? no body uses wood for this type of project, wood is good you may get a splinter but in general it won't slice fingers all up, uh! unless your saw gets away from you...

yea! now were heading in the right direction, iam an amiga lover and a wood lover too. wood saved my life once, lot of hugs a kisses to that ol dry stick of oak. plus wood is just plain fun to work with...

Wood rocks! (uhm, that looked weird when I wrote it.) I think I'll start building something my self! Maybe a marble desktop case?   :-D

But seriously; the metal box looked really good. I'd like to have something like that when (if) I get an A1 lite. Most of the case designs I've seen are really boring and one looks like the other. A case like that with an Amiga logo routed out in front with blue led's in would really rock.

-edit (): And slots for cd and disk drives, and usb connectors on the side rather than in front. (Most people would probably prefer them in the front panel, but I don't. They get in the way all the time.) A case that can sit underneath the screen and be low and look pretty! Am I getting really off topic or uninteresting now? Hope not  :-)

The case seem to be just as any other case realy, I'm still waiting for someone to make a metalcase that looks as the original case and with window options for nice neon styling. :-D
