RGB to VGA Adapter question
« on: May 23, 2009, 11:10:00 PM »
I have two RGB to VGA adapters.  One has the part # of 390682-01 and the other one has the part # 390682-03.  Does anybody know the difference between them.  Do they both do the same thing?

Very interesting.  What is the difference between the two.  I am totally clueless as to what you just stated.  Thanks.

According to the Big Book of Amiga hardware site, some of the later 390682-03's were compatible with the Video Toaster.

cheers

So, I take it both can be used for the same function of hooking up a multisync monitor to the Amiga RGB port?

Should work in workbench using VGA monitor driver (or DBLPAL/DBLNTSC).

Wont work in games unless monitor does 15KHz horizontal refresh.

Very interesting.  So unless I'm mistaken, I can use this adapter within workbench with a standard VGA monitor?  The only time this adapter won't work is if I play games...because of the VGA's inability to perform 15khz?  I also thought the Workbench environment used 15khz also.

you can set you WB to VGA or DblPAL/DblNTSC/EURO72 by a "monitor" tooltype.
