adf mounter
« on: May 20, 2009, 09:46:24 PM »
hi all,
just wondered if anybody knows of an application that can mount a memory resident (fast ram) pseudo floppy drive (like alcohol does for an optical drive on the pc) on the amiga.the reason i ask is so i can convert dms files to it and run them without having to use real 3.5 disks all the time.many thanks.

For non-reset-resident stuff I use diskimage.device.
Very easy to swap "disks" in and out. From there, you could do a diskcopy to RAD: if you need to boot from something.

Not sure if radman is more direct, I haven't used it.

I use statram for this - it's good.

Check out FMS.  It's a virtual floppy not an adf mounter, but it's worked well for me over the years.

To mount ADFs directly you can try ADF Device.  I've never tried this one myself so I can't speak to how well it works.
