Another A500Plus with Problems

These last couple of days i have been testing my Amiga's and removing batteries .

Here is another problem A500Plus .

I removed the battery and cleaned the leaky acid from the motherboard . It doesn't seem to have leaked much at all .

But the Amiga refuses to work outright ..

I switch it on , but the screen remains black .

The power light does turn on , and appears normal (No blinking) . But floppy does not start up and screen is just remaining black .

No RED or Green or whatever ... Nothing .

At one point it was giving a white screen .

Is it possible that the Kickstart is faulty ? Or could it be that the board is dead ?

Thats the 2nd dead A500Plus for me in 2 days :-(

Did it work before you removed the battery?

I didn't try it before removing the battery .

I had last switched it on about 2 years ago and it worked fine .

I think I had the same symptoms when I put my A500's Agnus chip back in the wrong way round (:crazy:). Not suggesting that's what you've done of course but maybe you've got a bad contact there or on one of the other custom chips.

I don't think thats it , simply because i didn't remove the Agnus .

What i have not tried re-seating is the Motorolla CPU .

So , symptoms are :

Power light on and OK! (No Blinking etc...)
Screen BLACK
Floppy Drive makes a slight slight sound when powering off
Reset does nothing (Not even Blinking the power)

I have tried replacing the kickstart with a 1.3 and a 1.2 but still same problem , so its def not the kickstart .

I didn't think you'd removed it, just thought maybe you had a bad connection due to corrosion or something.
