WTB: Amiga 4000 keyboard or Lyra adapter

I have an Amiga 4000 with no keyboard .

I want to buy either an A4000 keyboard or else a Lyra adapter so that i can use a ps/2 pc keyboard .

I would prefare something from europe if possible , simply because of the postage costs . But if postage from outside europe is not expensive i will consider it .

I use a PS2 adapter and PC keyboard with my A4000.  Check out Amigakit as they stock them:

I decided to go ahead and buy that . A4000 keyboards are expensive , and if i buy one and it breaks i will be quite unhappy .

On the otherhand pc keyboards are worth abs nothing

I have seen a number of used Lyra interfaces on eBay lately, and they have been sold for "almost new price". This is especially funny, as Lyra2 has been out since october and it offers some nice new features, such as soft-configuring and multimedia keys. I am a big fan of the original keyboard myself, but they do fade away, and a new keyboard (preferrably in combination with an optical mouse) does help bringing the fun back to computing.

The first one is an A2000 keyboard . Don't think its compatible and the 2nd one i tried to buy but it didnt let me since i didn't "meet the buyer requirements" , prob cause im not in the USA .

That adapter can be a simple DIN<->mini-DIN adapter from the PC. It's the same pinning. Roughly 5 bucks if you can still find them (they were popular during the transition to ATX, mid-90s, but still manufactured today).

Actually, I might have a couple of them floating around in my office somewhere.  I'll stick to the Lyra though.  I have real Amiga keyboards on my A2000 & A3000, but the Minimig, A4000 and A1200Ts do ok with PC keyboards.

Edit:  I have to say that one of my pet hates is someone selling a big box Amiga and the keyboard in seperate auctions.  I mean, I know it makes sense to split up an Amiga for the best prices, but it is kicking the ass out of it when you strip it of the keyboard and mouse too.  /rant

I bought it from someone locally , she had moved house and forgot the keyboard and the RGB cable at her old house

It's a nice machine to own, but it is rather cramped inside.  Quite a few CD/DVD ROMS are either too long to fit properly or crush the cables against the PSU and by the time you stack a couple of hard drives into the metal bracket then there isn't much space for air flow.

My internal SD/FF died just before I left home (monitor would lose and regain native signals constantly from the SDFF VHA port, but a CBM VGA adapter on the regular video port produced a solid, but ugly display - removing and reseating it didn't work) and I wouldn't be too suprised to find out that heat was to blame.  I'll pick up an Indivision 4000 when I get back and install that.

I think I'm going to pull the internal DVD drive and just put the blanking plate back as an external USB drive attached to the Deneb works just as well and allows easy installation of OS3.9 from OS3.1.  It will probably give the PSU a break too and help the cooling.  I can probably lose one of the 80GB hard drives too as 160GB storage is probably kicking the ass out of it.  :-D
