19" CRT Monitor Recommendations

My old 17" is starting to show its age and wondered what you guys would recommend.

I'm after a 19" CRT FST with a max dot pitch of  .25 and can easily do 1280 X 1024 @ a minimum  of 85Hz, preferably higher, and has good all round picture quality and reliability, USB intregrated is not a must but would be a nice added extra :-)
My max Budget is 180 UKP

I have 2 monitors in mind that i will probably choose from failing any better recommendations

They are:

Iiyama Vision Master Pro 455 Nice monitor that fits just in my price plan

Iiyama Vision Master 1451 lower end and probably up to 40 UKP cheaper

I can get a good deal on the cheaper one but only for today,  your suggestions are most welcome :-)

I'm using an LG something or other... It's 19".. weighs about 30Kg!!, but can do a max resolution of 1600*1200... and that is what I run it at all the time (except at which I run at 1024*745).

It's great. :-)

It's survived me for three years and this is the best recomendation I can give any thing!!!

Iiyama monitors, are rock solid.

Mine 21" is a 13 years old model.It works fine.

I have an AOC 17" from dabs.com, it does 1280x1024 at 85hz, and 1600x1200 at 75hz, a dam nice flat crt tube.  they also do 19" monitors and maybe larger ones. My 17" was only about £80  :-o

No comparision, with Iiyama or LG (3 years warranty).

Indeed its a fantastic monitor, 3 years warrently too, flat crt.

We had some 17" Iiyama monitors in the labs at uni (they were called Visionmaster Pro or something) ans its almost exactly the same.

Yeah LG do have some monitors out there, they have there flatron range out atm with integrated USB but sadly its out of my price range, other wise i would have jumped on it.

Iiyama have always impressed me as they seem to do solid reliable CRT'S with fantastic image quality.
My friend recently got the pro 454 model and i was quite blown away by the overall quality

Although the one in that link has a different spec to mine which is bizzare, it says it only does 1280x1024 at 60hz, mine does it at 85hz although the minitor looks the same as the one in the pic the model of mine is AOC "7klr"

Bizzare, pehaps the pic or that spec is wrong but I did only pay 80 is quid for it. :-?

Yeah the pro range are more pricey as they use the superior Diamondtron rather than the cheaper ones which use shadow mask.

Having said that, i can pick up the pro 454 for just under 170.00 UKP which uses the DiamondTron tech but i dont know if paying the extra 40/50 quid would justify it as i havent used a shadow mask Iiyama to compare with and going by word of mouth

This kind of thing has happened me alot over the past couple of days when looking round for a monitor.
One place would have different dot pitch and and hz rating from another on the exact same model, bizzare indeed.

Only way to get exact specs it seems is threw the companys own website.

Those are good choices. You may also want to check out anything with a "Trinitron" tube,
CTX makes some at a reasonable price. Crystal -
clear displays, and they last forever.

I use a ViewSonic A90f+ here.  Works great on my A1200 with internal scandoubler in PAL, NTSC & Euro36 screen modes (which are doubled to 31khz), but doesn't seem to sync low enough for the others.  Bought it for $200 USD.  You can read more about it  here.

Viewsonic is known for having outstanding quality, and they make monitors over several different lines based on what you need/can afford.  Of course, their high-ends are much better than their low ends, but they have consistently won awards and make a very good product usually with a 3-5 yr. warranty.

I recommend Sony Trinitron.
They have probably the clearest images.
Also Mitsubishi Diamondtron are good.

That technology is probably the best you will ever find in CRT's. That is probably what I will use for my pegasos in the near future.
