Duke nukem poor performance
« on: April 01, 2009, 07:11:55 AM »
Hi any help would be nice.

I recently bought blizzard 1260 accelerator to my miggy.

Problem is that amiga duke plays with it much slower speed than with my apollo 040 accelerator.

How could I improve performance?

Did you update 680x0 libraries (to dummy 040 lib and correct 060 lib)? Do you have all 060 caches on?

Yes I did, libraries are latest ones.

68040 library named to .old and dummy named to 68040.library

Caches are probably on but I can check it later, ie. Doom/quake works just fine

Another new problem is hexen doesn't work at all, snoop dos says that can't open picasso96api.library?? what is this??

I use CGX4 but this is some kind of picasso wrapper?

Sort of false positive, it should support CGX as well as P96.
Do you have Cyberpatcher running?

No I don't use cyberpatcher and I don't understand how could it be needed.

I didn't use oxypatcher either with my 040 and duke was much faster

Well, try it, because if I remember correctly the 68060 has even less instructions implemented than the 68040, which might very well explain the slowdown.

At least 060 Quake crawls without Cyber/oxypatcher.
