A very nice Amiga LCD
« on: April 01, 2009, 02:24:07 AM »

A similar model of this monitor was mentioned in another thread regarding a scandoubler.

The NEC AccuSync LCD 51v handles the Amiga's 15khz very well, both PAL and NTSC machines work great with it.

I'm in the USA and I've tested it with an ntsc a500 and a pal a600.

It does seem that in PAL modes, the vertial size of the display is a bit too big, and without any vertical size adjustment on the monitor, a bit of the screen (top and bottom) get cut off. This does not happen under ntsc.

The one mentioned in the other thread, NEC AccuSync LCD 51vm sounds the same as this one except this model is white rather than black.

Worth picking up if you run across one :)

I've been hoping someone would post this info for a long time. Thanks!

Any other 15 KHz LCD success stories in the states?

Edit-

For me, the Last Crusade continues; kinda close but 5 months too late:

sale-868735166@craigslist.org [?] Date: 2008-10-06, 2:50PM EDT. I have 2 NEC AccuSync LCD51v flat screen monitors (15"), there are NO dead pixels, ...

Nice that some LCD monitors will sync down to 15 KHz, but does that mean that AGA modes will work too?  It would be nice to avoid the expense of a flicker fixer, if possible, given that I don't currently have an extra LCD monitor and can buy one that syncs to 15 KHz (hopefully).  Thanks.

ok. so does this mean this monitor connects to the amiga's rgb port directly with a regular rgb monitor cable. and that if you use this monitor you will not require a flicker fixer?

From what seems to be said above... I would guess that all you need to get this monitor working with an Amiga is something like this RGB TO VGA Adapter I got one from Amigakit.us a little while back and it works great with this convertor and my non 15khz monitor.  I guess I could have save $93 if I had this monitor!

Oh well... :-)

Yes, I think that's correct.  Do you know if such monitors will also support the AGA modes of the A1200/4000 systems?

I have a pair of LCD TV here from an absolutely unknown brand: Fujilink!

Both works flawlessly on mine UK PAL A600, PAL A500, NTSC 1200, A2000 PAL/NTSC. One wide screen unit (the best) and one 4:3 aspect ratio. Both models are 19".

They just don't play ball on DBL_PAL, 2024 and euro resolutions. All other works OK.

Oh: connected directly to the VGA port! No scandoubler needed.
Goodbye people.

I\'ll pop on from time to time, RL is acting up.
