Buddha Flash Phoenix Edition For All Zorro Amigas
« on: March 26, 2009, 12:01:43 AM »
Has anyone used one of
these with an Amiga 2000?

I am thinking of getting one from AmigaKit so I can use an IDE hard drive on my A2000 - but I have a revision 4.5 board and wonder if anyone seen any problems.

Thanks,
Mike Valverde

I have used it on my A2000. I didn't like it, and removed it after a week. I found with the Budda installed, it took almost a full 3 minutes to boot into 3.1, once i removed it, it takes less than a minute. I only was using it for a CD-rom drive. My Mobo was rev 6.
With no documentation to be found anywhere, I didn't even try to fix or diagnose to problem. If you want, I have my for sale.
I have Amiga stuff for sale at http://amigalounge.com. You can follow my builds there also.

Thanks Quarkx for the info.

I too haven't been able to find anything about this card and feared as much.  Currently I run 1.3 with SCSI 50 MB drive and it boots to Workbench in about 10 seconds.  Granted a new OS increases what it has to load... but 3 minutes just to recognize a CDROM is crazy!

Unless I hear some success stories I am going to stay away and try to figure out how to add more storage via my SCSI card.

Thanks,
Mike Valverde

I used a Buddha Gold Edition in my A2000 and A3000 and was more than happy with it.  Big tip though, DON'T stick it in the Zorro slot upside down.

Do you want a screenshot of my malfunctioning board?    :-(

The good news is that it is fixable.   :-D
