I'm back again
« on: March 15, 2009, 03:55:57 PM »
Hello, I'm from Germany, very close to the Dutch border (near Venlo). I just saw my last posting here was in 2004, when I still had my Pegasos II...
Well, I was never really away, but only reading hear, and writing in my own language at a German forum. That certain forum is slowly dying, with most of the "good guys" left, so I'm looking for a new home.

Welcome, this is the place to be for all things Amiga, including Classic, AmigaOS4.x, MorphOS and AROS.

Usually the friendliest Amiga people can be found here, but we do have our moments of tearing each other apart (what forum site doesn't).  I have been a member for several years and lurked here for even longer before that.

So, again let me say welcome.  What Amiga equipment do you have now since you no longer have your PegasosII?  (Now that the Peg2 can run both AmigaOS4.x and MorphOS I don't have to worry about some fanatic giving me a hard time for calling the Peg2 Amiga equipment)

How are you helping the Amiga community? :)

I'm currently using an A 1200 with a scandoubler at an VGA-TFT monitor in a selfmade case. The keyboard will be replaced with another, more steampunk looking than the current A 2000 keyboard. It has a HD with 4 GB, accelerator board with 68030/40 MHz and 8 Mb fastmem. Here it is:

I'm going to get a "new" Amiga 4000 desktop in the next 2 weeks, I hope.

And of course I'm using WinUAE with AmigaOS 3.9.

@Dr. Zarkov

Would you be so kind to not drag your personal problems with certain individuals in the "german forum" to different boards. There is no need for you to state things that simply are not true.

If however, you can support the statements you make, please step in contact with one of the administrators or other staff.

Thank you very much.

Greetings! :pint: I still have some family in southern Germany (Ulm). Unfortunately my German is rather terrible though...

@amigarules2k: What are you talking about? I did not mention a name of a forum, or worse: any names of persons! And I was not going to do so.

@Weirdami: yes, it is. The photo was taken at the "Classic-Computing 2008" in Moers last year.

Not radio, but TV: The scandoubler is not just a scandoubler, it is an external TV-tuner for VGA-monitors. Unfortunally it's only for analogue TV, the only channel here in this area left is RTBF 1 from Belgium, in bad quality, if I would connect an antenna. The rest became digital some time ago...

JJ: Yes, I am! :-)

a-pex: Sorry that you feel spoken to. You did a great job when you've created your forum. But unfortunally some things went very wrong when you took a little break from your "leadership". I was and I am not interested in having trouble with anybody. But a certain bustling moderator stopped me from seeing any sense in writing anything more. As you can see from my log-in times, I still regulary watch and read in your forum, I just took the decision not to post there any more. You should respect that without "playing the offended liver-sausage" (as we say in German)    ;-)
