Old MV1200 Scandoubler
« on: March 01, 2009, 10:28:25 PM »
I don't know if someone can help but I have a problem with
my MV1200 Scandoubler. One day I used my Amiga, the computer
had been powerd on for at least 5-6 hours the a pop sound
came from my computer, the monitor went black and burned electronicsmell came in the air. I found really fast out that it was the scandoubler who went dead. The Mach chip
had exploded. I bought a new one from Amigakit but it was not for this scandoubler but they said that it could work, so... After I tryed too replace the new mach chip I tryed the scandoubler, but nothing happend. The Question is now.
Is there anywere I can buy a new chip for my scandoubler or
is it someone who can burn the right software inside the chip?? See picture, see this link. http://home.no.net/xedius/IMG_1810-1.JPG

Hmm, if I could find out who made this scandoubler, the person or company I could contacted them and asked them for help. I think it will be hard too find that out, the production have been down for many many years.

No idea; I do have a similar tin beast, labeled as Eyetech Ez-VGA, paper copied and glued labels.

Indeed, I guess the best solution for you is to get an Indivision. The picture quality is much better.

Btw, maybe I can help you since I have a spare MV1200. It doesn't work, I don't know what's the failure I never saw it working but nothing seems to be damaged inside. I kept it as a spare for my working one but I think I'll never use it.

Email me if you are interested in getting it.

I have a MV1200 too, and had the problem with the Mach chip. Mine didn't exploded, but it blown anyway.

The problem was caused by the PLCC socket, that cracked and was causing bad contact with the Mach chip.

I bought a new chip from AmigaKit. They had it from an old Eyetech inventory. It's working flawlessly so far.

At that time, I remember being in contact with Jens Schoenfeld about this issue, and he told me he could provide me with a new chip if AmigaKit didn't have it.

Try to drop him a message.

Good Luck!
