Arexx Web Pages Foreign Language Translations Script?
« on: March 01, 2009, 03:35:43 AM »
Does anyone know if there's any Arexx scripts to translate foreign language web pages using the now free FLM (Foreign Language Master)?

I use Google to translate, but I was wondering if anyone has written a script for IBrowse that would use FLM to translate foreign language web pages (e.g., in German) to English, or vice versa, for others?

Can it be done?  FLM claims not to be a text translator, but can't this be done using Arexx?

OK, I should've check Aminet first, but being the dummy I am, I did it only after posting the above plea.

I found FPTransAPI version 1.3.

I followed the instructions for iBrowse, but noticed the instructions were written before 2.4.

I went into Preferences>Settings & in GUI>Macros, I pressed the "Add" button, typed in the "Name" entry: German->English, chose ARexx for "Action" & used the dog-eared page gadget to point to "Rexx/FTransIB.ibrx 6".  The 6 is a suffix I typed in to tell it to do its thing from German to English.  Should I have used the "INT" gadget for more options or used the other gadget to the right of that at the end of the same line?

I get this error when I went to http://www.djbase.de & selected the macro German->English:

Command returned 10/15: Function not found

Can someone here help me?

EDIT: I noticed that the translator server:
http://translator.go.com
no longer exists.  That's probably the reason.  I researched it on the Internet Archive & found out the new site is:
http://www.systransoft.com
I can simply edit the C source code, changing the URL, recompile, & replace the file in the C: directory but are the numbers that correspond to the type of translation from 0 - 9 still the same still??  Also, are all the .h header files there to get a clean compile?
