You realise of course this means war.

Anybody else here have an Atari, an Amiga and a video camera, and a vindictive nature? :)

LOL! The guy is a total knob. "While the Atari is doing cool stuff, I think the Amiga has found its place"... lol   I'm sure the video was meant to revive the good old computer flame wars, but if this was for real and he's more impressed by such a weak demo, gosh. Oh well. Different strokes for goofy folks I say!

Ironic too that he was using a 1084s with his Atari. The original Atari monitors sucked and that's putting it nicely  :-)

Talk about silly, why would one retro geek bash another retro geek?  What's the point of flame wars over old technology that can be emulated on modern equipment faster than it ran on the original equipment?  I mean what's the point in 2009?

What we\'re witnessing is the sad, lonely crowing of that last, doomed cock.

I did actually find an Atari ST in a skip.

Seems to work (power light comes on when it's plugged in and switched on) but I never tried any further than that.

But then why would i bother?

At least with the monochrome monitor your eyes wouldn't hurt because you could enjoy the "flicker free" refresh rate at 72hz. But otherwise Atari ST is/was crap.

Oh yeah, totally forgot about the grey scale monitor they had. That *was* quite the setup. I remember thinking back then: "ooohkay... hi-res b/w when colour should be reigning supreme". Wasn't it Paula Abdul that said: "take two steps forward, one step back"? lol

Only time I ever saw that monitor in use was in Arlington Heights, IL. We had an Amiga shop that sold Amiga exclusively for a while before they buckled and divided the store 50/50. IBM stuff of course. Anyway... get this: they used a frickin' AtariST as their POS ('point of sale' in this case) cash & wrap!! The store had nothing else to do with Atari hardware, didn't sell or service it. Just used it as their POS! lol
