A600 RAM 0%?

Hello!

After a clean boot from the wb 2.1 disk, i have 0% free of my ramdisk.. It have a memexpension.. It has about 1707686graphics mem..
Why is this?

Ignore that. It has to do with the way it's setup/mounted. Much like a CD-ROM. Use it as normal and you'll see your system memory being taken up as you do.

There is a patch for OS3.9 BB2 users that fixes this. But really, it's just a minor cosmetic issue.

Alright!

Thought that was why the amiga explorer transfer to the RAM disk wouldnt work! Thanks!

You don't need OS3.9 to fix that.

(The reason it happens is that the RAM Disk is dynamic, it grows and shrinks as needed, so every block allocated is in use and hence the RAM Disk has 0% free - it does not mean that your RAM is full. Look at the screen title bar to see how much free memory you actually have, or use a patch.)

RAM: disk is always only as large as the files it contains.  Therefore, it always has 0% free.  It dynamically resizes to whatever it contains.  

RAD: (aka, the Recoverable Ram Disk) can be mounted as a fixed size and will show a proper % free.

Your free RAM is displayed at the top of the workbench screen.
RAM: disk can size up to this as needed.
