Well if it didn't even work then it would be really lousy port, now wouldn't it?  ;-)

I don't think Stanislaw will ever port it to OS 3.9, and I frankly don't know if it would be feasible. Anyway, I'm happy I can now answer you directly from AROS!

Sweet! I'm glad this finally happened. AROS is getting nicer and nicer.

Kudos to the entire development team!

YES!

Does it run on VMwaros 1.02 or do I need to upgrade with a nightly?

Look like this is the one opportunity to get an Amiga based OS on reasonably priced hardware.

What are the hardware requirements to make a reasonably speedy Aros installation?

I’m running it on a p3 600 mhz with a geforce 4 and that could be considered the lower limit if you want the backward compatibility with uae. Aros itself run excellent on the 600. I think a machine that’s around 1,5 - 1,7 ghz is the absolute optimal buy on the cheap vs. power ratio scale. It is cheap and aros will outrun vista with ease. Uae will behave great. I think that here also goes the limit on the use of vesa, meaning that graphic card is not necessary, it will perform well on vesa that allows up to 1200*1024. So if you are in luck the cheap 1.5ghz machine have a graphic card that works out of the box. If not you have the pleasure of having a well working machine with vesa on the motherboards buildt-in, but the ebay hunt continues, and that is also one of the fun parts.

Good question, it is pretty easy actually. What did you download then?

Hi Tension. Here's the trick

- place OWB.tar.gz wherever you like (my default for downloads and so is pub: anyway)

- open a shell with rAmiga+W

- type in

cd extras:Networking/apps
untgz pub:OWB.tar.gz

- a new directory 'OWB' will be created and files will be exploded there

- type in

cd OWB
owb

that's all. If you like, you can open the drawers with Wanderer, choose show > all files and then ask icon information and save it. You'd better add some stack in the proper place, for istance 1000000.

(edit: changed suggested stack size from 500000 since it fixed some random sudden deaths on my machine)

What about ram?  Is a quarter or half gig enough?
