« on: February 23, 2009, 04:21:17 PM »
Hello!

Just recieved my 600 today, went home, opened it up to install my IDE-CF adapter.. and i cant find the IDE interface connection on the MB? Both connectors seems to be a FDD connector! Or am i not seeing straight? :S

You have 3,5" IDE adapter (40 pins), but A600 has 2,5" IDE connector (44 pins, power in 4 extra pins).

In theory you can use your adapter, if you find or make 44->40 pin IDE cable and take power elsewhere. Or if you get IDE splitter for Amiga which would give you 3,5" ports. But more pretty solution would be having 2,5" adapter and normal 44-pin 2,5" IDE cable.

Yes, that's the 40-pin adapter.

Here's a link to a 44-pin adapter.  $2.82 with free shipping.  This is the one I have in my A600HD and it works perfectly.
Code 6502 asm or... DIE!!

Well, my adapter have the possibility to pull power from an FDD powerconnector..

You can use a 3.5"-to-2.5" adapter, but isn't it easier (and cheaper) to get the proper adapter?
