Anybody experienced in OS4 Python programming?
« on: February 21, 2009, 09:33:47 PM »
Hello,

I ask because I just learned OS4 has Python language built in.

My question is whether someone already used it for something - I mean dedicated libraries actually.

Anybody?

This is a great piece of news to me, it automatically makes me a potential (and decided) programmer for OS4 :-)

Was: Mac Mini PPC running MorphOS 2.4
Now: Amiga Forever 2010 with AmiKit and AmigaSYS
Not used: Icaros Desktop 1.2 (reason: no wifi)
Planned soon: an OS4 system
Shortly then: a MOS notebook (wifi is a must-have)

Diskdoctor,
i havent used python on amiga, heck i dont even own a properly functional amiga anymore. I have however started to used python on my other machines with different OS and really start to like the python language itself and lately the pygame module. I am a hobby/bedroom programmer and would love to see/test which support python has on the Amiga platform. It would definately mean that I in the planned future might do some remakes and open-source versions of good-ol-games just for the sake of it.

Well, I agree on your original post. I'll do some googling in the matter.
