Amiga 4000 power supply question
« on: September 09, 2003, 07:19:38 PM »
Referencing THIS pinout, I have the following question.

Quote
Power Good is a TTL output from the power supply, a logical high indicating a stable power supply.

So basically I am guessing there needs to be +5V (??)present on this pin for the motherboard to determine there is a good power supply?

Aw come on, simple question! The answer I'm pretty sure i know I just want to confirm!

Also the A4000 doesn't have a tick signal pin like the A3000 correct? What I see is what I get?

Regarding the PwrGd pin, it looks that way to me. It doesn't say its active low so I'd assume it's +5v normally.

As for the tick signal, no idea...

I think you're right on the "power good" in the 4000 that goes to a signal called _FAIL  which is pulled up to 5v.  So if it is held low, that means the power is bad.

From the schematics, it looks like the 4000 does have a 'tick' signal, but it's generated internally from VSYNC.

KEEP IT!

There's just no substitute for the real deal. C'mon, with all the other machines you have, you might as well have one of each!  :-D
