From MorphOS users who are upgrading to Mac Mini :-P

Arent this as hard to get as the AmigaONE?

Harder than Amiga1 if you look at AWN classifieds.

That's why I'm feeling quite smug  :-D

I got my Pegasos 2 ODW for free, from Genesi. Now I could sell it at profit, how is that? :-D

You like me "wasted" money on the Sam though.
I would never have bought the Sam if i owned a pegasos and knew about the OS 4.1 release.

I still hope i get my Sam soon though... Arrived in norway on saturday and i am still waiting for it.  :-(

@persia
Who says AOS4 systems aren't vintage systems once they appear??

@redfox
But I meant pricing actually by posting this.

Sam's price is public but what about P2 and/or A1?  Since one (I) cannot deduce it from ebay, you can only see it's being sold without ANY information about call it, market price (which is actually constant to some extent).

What about A1200/3000/4000 with this Blizzard/Cyberstorm add-ons?  What about classic pricing? (or at least comparison to others)

What I wish to see is table with possibilities altogether with prices.  So that one can decide.  Or at least, seeing some auction one would be able to react.

@Triton199
Yes, I already decided to waste my money.  I simply want OS4, I'm bored with this Win/Lin/OSX trio.  I want fresh meat!!!

@Varthall
Yeah, I'm considering programming for OS4.

@persia
& @countzero
Thanks, but I have my local distributor actually - eFunzine.
Was: Mac Mini PPC running MorphOS 2.4
Now: Amiga Forever 2010 with AmiKit and AmigaSYS
Not used: Icaros Desktop 1.2 (reason: no wifi)
Planned soon: an OS4 system
Shortly then: a MOS notebook (wifi is a must-have)

A G4 Mac mini port would change the game, there are enough used MacMinis out there that everyone who wants AMigaOS 4 could have one in every room of their house and not exhaust the supply...

But it would put SAM out of business...

What we\'re witnessing is the sad, lonely crowing of that last, doomed cock.

Correct!  I asked for available stuff, not PPCMacs nor Amy yet.

I think since nothing stopped Hyperion from releasing AmigaOS for Pegasus, only tech issues (which I am aware of) would slow this down.

They are OS manufacturer, if $$ are guaranteed, they would port it to any hardware platform, unless the court eventually tells them not to. So the issue is the ratio between time to port / user base, which is in favor of Macs.  We'll see.

I don't feel that I wasted money on the sam.  I've had mine since November (I think, seems ages) and I've used it as my main computer every day since then.  I'm using it now in fact.  I wasn't really on the look out for a Peg but I knew morphos2.x was impressive (from using it on my Efika) so when one came up I thought "what the hell".  Now two weeks later os4.1 is available for Peg2 and OWB is out for morphos  :-D .

I hope you get your sam soon so you can start enjoying it.  I waited quite a number of weeks but it was worth it.

I know that this is not what you want to hear, but no one is going to supply a chart comparing prices between all the various systems.

We can offer advice, but in the end you will have to do some homework on your own.

Quick scan of amigakit.com a few moments ago .... (prices will vary)

AmigaOS 4.0 (Classic Version)    = 76.71 euro
AmigaOS 4.1 (AmigaOne Version)    = 120.22 euro
AmigaOS 4.1 (Pegasos II Version) = 135.71 euro
AmigaOS 4.1 (SAM440ep Version)    = 134.54 euro

SAM440ep (667Mhz CPU)           = 584.99 euro

----

Take SAM440 for example ...

SAM440ep + AmigaOS4.1 = 719.53 euro + shipping

This price includes the motherboard, RAM and Radeon M9 module but does not include a case, power supply, hard drive, DVD/CD-ROM drive, keyboard, mouse and monitor.

Some dealers offer complete systems for SAM440.  Prices vary according to what is included in the system.

----

Regarding older systems (AmigaOne, MicroA1, Pegasos II, Amiga Classic):

The official AmigaOne and MicroA1 consisted of a motherboard with CPU module, RAM memory module and AmigaOS 4.0 Developer Pre-release CD.  Some of us purchased one of these bundles and built our own systems and some of us purchased a complete system from the Amiga dealer with case, power supply, etc.  Some people may be willing to sell their entire system.  Price will vary according to what is included in the package.

Although I do not know for sure, I would imagine that the original Pegasos II system included the motherboard, cpu module, memory module and MorphOS on CD.  Some people may be willing to sell their entire system.  Again price will vary according to what is included in the package.

AmigaOS 4.0 (Classic Version) is available for Amiga 1200 equipped with BlizzardPPC expansion board and Amiga 3000(T) equipped with CyberstormPPC expansion board and 4000(T) equipped with CyberstormPPC expansion board.  Again price for used hardware will vary significantly as you gather together the basic system and expansion cards.

----

Lastly, I just wanted to let you know that I build my current system 4 years ago (MicroA1/AmigaOS4).  I use my system every day and have gone through many OS4 updates as they became available.  I purchased AmigaOS 4.1 in September 2008.

I long for the day when the modern amiga OS can be run on commonplace hardware, weather it be used apple computers or cheap new hardware im not picky! probably wont happen but one can dream right? and sorry but ~760$ plus powersupply, hard drive, case, monitor etc is not a good deal! considering that i can build an AMD phenom II based desktop with a 189$ asus motherboard, 4gb of ram, and a radeon HD4870  for 685$ plus S&H not including the optical drive, HDD, or powersupply and case. with everything but optical drive and case its 810$ + S&H

i love amiga but the price is absurd

@DiskDoctor

Here is a quick sample from various amiga sites ...

Classifieds at amigans.net
AmigaOne XE system for 800 EURO ( minimum )

Classified ads at amigaworld.net
AmigaONE system .. offers accepted by email
AmigaOne XE system .. contact by email
Micro AmigaOne system for 1200 EUR + shipping ... contact by email

Amiga Marketplace at amiga.org
SAM440 System ........ offers
Pegasos 2 G4 system .. offers

For Sale (Buy & Sell) at morphzone.org
lists several Pegasos II systems

There may also be stuff for sale at AmiBay

As you can see, most of these sellers want to be contacted by email, but some will respond to a PM.  Unfortunately, it is hard to judge what price to offer when so few sellers list prices.  There may be more prices listed on eBay.

PS
There is also some discussion about Amiga OS 4.1 for Pegasos II over at www.morphzone.org in case you are interested.
