Online resources for writing device drivers?

Where might I find good online sources on how to write device drivers for Amigas?

All these projects I have in mind don't do much good if I can't get some communication between the OS and the new hardware!  :-D

A4000D, A3640 OC-36.3MHz, custom tower, Mediator A4000D. Diamond Banshee 16M, Indivision AGA 4000, GVP HC+8.

Mac Mini 1.5GHz, that might run MorphOS someday, when the fools who own it come to the realization that 30 minutes just isn\'t enough time to play with it enough to decide whether or not you like it enough to cough up $200.

 - Someone please design SOME kind of DIY accelerator for the A4000. :D -

well, I think you can look the cnet.device and A500IDE.lha in aminet

the cnet should be a good example (AFAIK Bernd Meyer used it to create the realtek8029 driver..)

Or if you'd prefer C source code, have a look at 3c589.lha or pccardserial.lha. Another assembly device is pcmser.lha.

I was sort of hoping for some explainations as to what a device driver needs in order to be used by the OS to talk to the hardware... But I suppose looking at source code can't hurt. A very good suggestion  :-D
