Amiga Kit changed their coin battery holders (?)
« on: January 22, 2009, 09:38:04 PM »
Fist, I got my shipment from Amiga kit and again thanks. It looks like you changed your coin battery holders. These new ones have 3 terminals, but the 2 positive are way to close together to fit on any Amiga boards, I can run a wire I guess. Any feedback or suggestions on these new holders? I ordered 6 for projects etc.

Sounds like they've sent the wrong ones - just drop them a mail, their customer service is apparently fantastic.  For future reference, these are available at farnell or CPC, too...

Thanks for the order.  You only need to connect two of the terminals.  The other extraneous tag can be snipped off cleanly if not required for your project.  Some projects will require the third terminal.

I don't really have any issues or problems with these, but I saw they were online and maybe wanted to comment on them. I just have to mod them a bit to work, so not really a big concern. Maybe break one of the "legs" or pins  off is the best way to go.

see, just as I post, they respond, just as I thought, break a pin off. BTW everything else arrived perfectly, and what a great way to package it.
Not to open up a can of worms, but someone else here a couple of weeks ago was commenting on the floppy drives from Amiga kit. I order 2 for my A2000, and could not see ANYTHING he was talking about or anything "wrong" with mine. They work and fit and more importantly look great, Just have to match up the front bessel with some paint or something for the A2000 (not their fault). again
again, nothing but A1 service and parts from them.
Thank you Amiga Kit

If you need a few of the two tag variety, we can include some in the next order at no extra charge.  Hope this helps.
