I agree with meega. Bitmap fonts don't care what resolution your screen is.
Now, it may be that you've set your workbench fonts wrong, and the fonts would be screwed up regardless of your workbench resolution.
Make sure that you've set your font to a size it actually exists and is recommended in.
In other words, I don't think there is anything that would stop you from setting a Topaz font to pitch 7, but since Topaz,7 doesn't exist, it takes Topaz,8 or 11 and tries to scale it. This will cause a broken looking font, like I think you're trying to describe.
Only use font sizes that exist as actual sizes. Don't type in your own size. :-)
