Mediator A4000 desktop in A3000 desktop?
« on: September 07, 2003, 01:18:09 AM »
Heyho,

are the daughterboard connectors of the A4000 and A3000 the same? So, could an Amiga 4000 Mediator used in an Amiga 3000 desktop?

Regards,
Oliver Sprenger.

Sadly, no.  One difference is that the A3000 daughter has the video slot at the top, so that a toaster placed there does not occlude the zorro slot above it, since there is none.  This made swapping it with the A4000's daughter board attractive to me earlier.  However, my local one-time-Amiga dealer assures me that they are electrically different beyond that, so it is impossible to safely trade them.
