Hi all,
 I want to know if it is possible to read xp formated drive on an amiga?
 I have a Draco which i intended to network to the pc but this have given me more headache than my head could bare. I have therefor decided to go the hard route.
I have a SCSI-II controller in the pc, so fomating a hard drive and moving it to the Draco so that i can move files to an fro.
The question is can crossdos read xp formated drives?

Well, as far as I know you can manage it using FAT32 formatted partitions - there is a compatible filesystem on aminet (fat95.lha, I think).

As for NTFS formatted partitons, no idea :-)

Using the above fat95 filesystem (or whatever it's called), I've had no problems reading FAT formatted floppies and FAT32 hard drives under amigaOS, long filenames are also supported.

    Do you mean i have to install that file on the Amiga or should it be installed on the pc?
     I believe it is a file that runs on the Amiga to make it posiible to read foreign formated drives.

yes, fat95 is for use on an amiga.

pc's are too dumb to read anything else. :-D

i have used fat95 on floppies and zip disks with No problem.

It was not my intention to answer my own question.
I'm going to search for the file on aminet then intnstall it on my draco.
   I hope that will solve most of my headaches.

You might look for an NTFS filesystem driver. Most XP drives today use NTFS by default. FAT32 is stil the old dos filesystem (as lame as it is). It's hard to tell if you are talking about a floppy disk or hard drive thru your post..
