samsung ssd firmware (not operating correctly on csppc/acard)
« on: January 11, 2009, 10:21:07 PM »
i have here a samsung 2,5inch ide ssd drive MCAQE32G5APP-0XA that im using on the deneb and dedicated adapter as my system disk since few months. also mounting this device on elbox z3 fastata controller isnt no problem. but when comes to csppc and acard 7720uw scsi/ide adapter with any firmware there is, and alo the other versions of acard scsi adapters it doesnt seems to work. depending on if drive is configured as slave, master or cable select its either not being recognized at all (in some cases machine refuses to boot) or it is found and recognized but any operation such as initialising takes ages and doesnt seem to complete at all. if i say ages take it literally, like hours, lol. the thing is that the same phenomenon might be observed on a pc equipped with an adaptec scsi controller, where i used to flash the bios of acard. so i suppose the problem lies somwhere between acard and the drive itself, and as i tried already all posible firmware versions for acard, if there is any possibility to install some other firmware version to the drive. unfortunatelly i wasnt succesful to find such an option anywhere on the net. is anyone able to help?
