Trev: yea, the moral sense.. like running a pirate ftp site and stuff. lol. so I guess thats my moral "bad thing" even though I didnt really care.

Yeah...  Most all my moral problems with an Amiga came from back in my high school days and involved a phone line.

I helped run a few pirate BBS over the years.

Stole a list of phone number and modem settings off a teacher's desk.  I had no idea what it was.  I was hoping it was a grading computer.  Instead, I ended up on Merit/MichNet and was quite mystified by it's size and complexity.  (Hey... This was 1990?  How many high school kids were really aware of the size of the internet back then?)

I might have accidentally crashed the school's attendance computer once, too.  (Really, I was just trying to find an easy way to tie up the phone line the automated system uses to notify parents when their kids skip classes.  I wasn't really expecting it would have a terminal I could connect to...)

On a more funny note, 'say' can make some HILARIOUS prank calls.  DSS8 can mask a voice pretty well, too.

I know what you mean.  When I got my first email address through a BBS/Shell acount using PINE I sent an email to somebody and I just figured it would take like a day to get there.  I didn't realize email was "instant".

But, worst thing I've done to my Amigas is trying to towerize my CD32.  Hooked the power cord up wrong from the tower cases PSU and fried my CD32 motherboard.  Madmaxx on here has that board after all these years (10+) and might even have it working now finally I think or close!

Back in my day, we didn\'t have water. We only had Oxygen and Hydrogen, and we\'d just have to shove them together.

Moral? Probably the same as many here. An older buddy of mine had a UK connection, and I recall feeling pretty smug about playing Settlers before the US release  Driving to the PO to pick up the "shipment", pizza, pepsi (was still much to young to drink) and floppies... definitely some magical times. :-) I've spent the last several years hunting down the originals of all my favorite games as a kid, down to a pretty small list now... (hint, hint, anyone wanna part with their copy of Traps 'n' Treasures?)

Tick, tick, tick, tick... good thing there are programs like tetra copy. I remember punishing my DF1: drive by playing "El condor pasa" using the drive head when it misbehaved.
A1200: 68020 @ 14 MHz (stock), 2MB Chip + 8MB Fast RAM, RTC, 3.1 ROMs, IDE-CF+4GB, WiFi WPA2/AES, AmigaOS 3.1, LCD 23" via composhite - Thanks fitzsteve & PorkLip!

heh, x-copy, d-copy... i got an external drive before the 1meg upgrade for my a500. not done anything really bad to hardware, but was part of the schoolyard copying contingent to my shame.

i seem to remember some ray tracing program i had, was able to use disk for virtual memory. i set it to df1: . you just wouldn't even consider it these days would you!

otherwise, selling the A500 that got me started down this route. stupid stupid stupid.... haa well...

A500, A600, A1200x3, A2000, A3000, A4000 & a CD32.
and probably just like the rest of you, crates full of related "treasure" for the above XD

This was when I was much younger.  I mean 16 years ago and before.

I once traded a load of copied disks with mate in exchange for a date with his gorgeous little sister which went to 3rd base.

So effectively I used my Amiga to facilite fraud and prostitution ;-)

Stop talking in american.  :-D   WTF is third base.

could you list the bases please.

My best guess has always been

1st base = klissing
2nd base - bit of titty grope
3rd base - warm and wet fingers
4th base - making the camel with two backs.

is this correct ?

Well as alexh seems to have lost his sense of humour, any americans explain what the bases are.  Always here it refered to, never known what they are

Exactly, and all your base are belong to me anyway :-)

OT: there are quite a few bad things that I've done to Amigas. Probably the worst is hot-plugging SCSI devices on my A3000, not only on the external port (Syquest drives, CD-Rom drives), but also internal.
However, the A3000 didn't cry about that: I once plugged in a 2nd harddisk while the machine was running - I opened HDToolBox and it just let me install and partition the drive. How's that for a rock-solid computer? :-)

I got the idea and was not asking for clarification of what you got up to on the back of this  :-D

I was just too lazy to look this up on our heavily , montiored and restricted internet.

I'm with you here, I have no idea what these various sexual euphanisms mean... It's like trying to work out what someone means when they state a time period using school "years"... Don't people realize we all went to different schools... And in different countries... I went to a private school in England, I have no idea what a "Year 9" is!
