« on: September 05, 2003, 10:51:07 AM »
Hello, back again with a new problem ... been so many years since my last amiga i cant remember how to use it properly.
I installed ArtPro V1.2 just minutes before and it loaded up and worked fine until i went to save a jpg as an iff... the screen went red then software failure.  no worries... but now when i try to boot up workbench doesnt appear, it just loads then the hdd light stays on and a blank screen.  I CANT USE MY AMIGA.   Dunno what to do now... not a clue ... its been 8 minutes and i dont know what to do...
 :-x

She isn't just validating the HD?
Is it large (the HD)? If it is it might take a while to validate it. (If she is validating the HD will make the usual noise while accessing the disk)

Other than that you can try to boot it with a floppy, and try some HDtools and DiskSalv.

My thoughts are with you in this rough time...  :-)

(Ok, I stopped thinking about you now :-D)

Hi, Red_Eye
It sounds like your rom chip maybe loose. You'll have to open up your miggy and press it back into place.
I think red screen means rom.

Check it here...

Hopefully thats all it is. :-)
