My 2009 prediction thread
« on: January 02, 2009, 06:38:16 PM »
The used PPC Mac Mini market will boom.  For some reason Apple users will collectively say "Whiskey Tango Foxtrot" along with Amiga users.

You read it here first.

Enjoy.

I've been trying to get a used MacMini 1.5GHz G4 with 64MB VRAM at a sensible price for ages now but they seem to be going up in price instead of down!!

In late 2009, Amiga Inc. redesigns their website as an online dating service (once they realize that the name Amiga means female friend), because it is infinitely more profitable than selling 99-cent crappy software for Windows devices.  Yet, it is still unclear which business plan is more effective in cheapening the once great Amiga trademark.

My predictions:

Fanatics on AW.net (and in part also amiga.org) will be catapulted on the moon.
Subsequently Microsoft will acquire all Amiga assets (which are worth a couple bucks) and Hyperion will get busted with a "team" of well-payed lawyers.

ONLY then, I will be able to say: "Justice is done!"

You guys are setting your sights way to high. I predict Cool Tools #2 will ship in record time. Also, the developers of iBoobs were rejected from the iPhone App store so maybe they will bring this great App to AA2.

When Amiga, Inc. loses its case against Hyperion out of spite it will sue Amiga.org over its domain name, just so it can keep its lawyers busy.  (joking)

Why stop there.  How about an A600 replacement Motherboard with an 060 and USB built in?

Why even for the 600 which isnt that common? Brand new a1200 accelerators, or hell, even a1200 memory upgrades would make much more sense.

My Prediction for 2009:

Nothing will happen.

Well, nothing official anyway. All the interesting stuff will come from open source projects like minimig & it's add-ons.

AmiJoe440 appears!

But really. Year 2009 has a good chance to be a good year from Amiga user's perspective. There are a lot of good things ongoing and a lot of freaky Amiga stuff available.

((I personally would not mind seeing AmiJoe kind of cards appearing for classic Amigas and perhaps for PCI slot to get PPC OSs running on non-PPC motherboards))
