How to install OS3.9 BB2 manually?

Hi eveyone,
  Trying to install v3.9 w/BB 1 + 2 so I can use my 4.5 GB HDD with relative ease. Well, 3.9 installed fine, bu when I tried to install Boing Bag 1, I got an 'unspecified function in line 5' error, or something similar.. OK, no biggie. I reboot and, nothing.... black screen, no HD activity, floppy wouldn't boot up, nuthin'... I was finally able to get the OS 3.9 emergency disk to boot this morning, and re-install 3.9, so for the time being I have a working system...
This system was working fine before trying to install BB1, BTW...

Soooo, first, anyone know what happened when I tried to install BB 1? Anyway to get BB2 to ignore the version check so I can just install it instead? Anyone know how to install BB2 manually?


The machine is the 4000T listed in my sig. No patches beside OxyPatcher, and MCP. Pretty much standard OS3.9 install. :-?

It's been a while, but I just installed OS3.9 fresh, set the file dates current on everything and installed BB2 over that. Deleted everything that had a current date and everything that was left was BB2. Archived it and saved it for manual installation later.

You replaced the original "Installer" program with something else. Copy the original back to SYS:Utilities and delete it from SYS:C if it's there.

The original Installer can be found in OS-Version3.9/C or in Emergency-Boot/Utilities on the OS 3.9 CD.

Well, the bb1 and 2 zip(i think its zip) archive which hold the updates are encrypted, and bb2 takes out the scsi.devices in the amigarom update file not needed for your amiga before installing it.
