A3000T fixed - Thx to redrumloa
« on: December 29, 2008, 11:25:28 PM »
Well I'll start by saying thanks to redrumloa for providing me with the jumper settings that I needed to get my A3000T working :)

I did have a bit of trouble though... But it was my own stupid fault!!!

Originally the 3000T came with an apollo 4040 (which I didn't really want in there) so I took it out and tried to put the jumper settings back to default and then after a few attempts, gave up...

Months passed....

Then I saw redrumloa's post on how he's just got his A3000T up and running, so purely for interest sake I asked what the default settings were so I could get that all set up. He responded quite quickly and gave me the info I needed (thanks again) and I set to work the very next day.

I set the jumper settings and hit the power button.. But alas, no such luck... But it was getting further than it ever had done before, as the screen was actually displaying black instead of just remaining off (I'm sure you get what I mean)

After a good few hours of checking every jumper setting on the board I noticed that the Kickstart ROM and the SCSI chip were connected with a bit of wire... "That's odd" I thought... So I removed the wire (and the kickstart and scsi risers beneath)..... and behold the A3000T sprung into life (HOORAY!)

Now, this was completely my fault, as the "wire" was part of the Apollo 4040s SCSI compatability for the 3000 series and was thus screwing everything else up..

So with thanks to redrumloa and no thanks to my stupidity, the 3000T is up and rocking :)

The SCSI kit that caused me hassel:

The 3000T finally up and running:

Heh, nps :D

I'm just glad it's all working now... I had the horrible feeling that I'd killed it when I took the old accelerator out of it :)
Back to action!

No worries, it will probably be temporary. I'm just thrilled about the Dolphins this year! Best 1 year turn around in NFL history, won the division and in the playoffs!

BinoX,

I have a problem with A3000T which don't want to boot from WB 3.1. With WarpEngine it was working well, now only Wb 2.04 with KS 3.1 can be installed :(

Redrumloa, could you please share the default jumper settings for the 3000t? I also have this black video problem because there was a 040 accelerator pulled out and my Amiga 3000t is also dead.. I've been looking for this info all around without luck!

Thanks in advance!

No Accelerator

J100 1-2
J102 2-3
J103 2-3
J104 1-2

Do not change any other jumpers if you do not know what they do or you can cause physical damage to the board.

I think I'm going to get those jumper settings tattooed on my arm in case I ever pull the accelerator out of my 3000T.

In fact, what worked for me was j102 at 1-2, any idea why?? j102 at 2-3 gives me no boot.
