Elan Invision Plus
« on: December 18, 2008, 12:53:45 PM »
Hello everyone.

I'm looking for a program titled Elan Invision Plus. If anyone has any information leading to this particular program please let me know. Original disks or not. We would just like to test the companion software for Elan Performer and see what the benefit of using both would be in our particular video production setup. Your time will be rewarded.

Thanks in advance and fingers crossed!

I believe there's a bunch of top programmers in the Pentagon working on Iran Invasion Plus as we speak.  Should be available early in the New Year.

;-)
A2000, A3000, 2 x A1200T, A1200, A4000Tower & Mediator, CD32, VIC-20, C64, C128, C128D, PET 8032, Minimig & ARM, C-One, FPGA Arcade... and AmigaOne X1000.

@ amigan24

Yes it works on an unexpanded A1200, but wont do alot unless you have memory, or a Fast SCSI HD if you want to Spool animations.

If your just doing a Slide show then its totally awesome.

I have Elan Invision Plus and a few different Versions of Elan Performer

Elan Invision is basically Elan Performer except that INVISION also allows the use of A-Squared's Amiga LIVE! Video effects card (Rare as hens teeth but cool)  And ELAN PERFORMER is More updated and allows use of different Animation formats.

It DOES NOT support AGA unfortunately BUT!   here is a little secret!  Elan performer works with the DCTV which allows Million Color Animations! even in 720x480 (the Faster your processor the Better)

Also you can add sound to the Keys by using an external program called: NOISOMEKEYCLICK

Get that!

But this is something I simply thought of...its nto supposed to work with PERFORMER. If the Creator of NoisomeKeyClick would add the ability to put a different sound on every key...you would have an AWESOME application.

Elan Performer is one of the Most Amazing Applications for the Amiga.   Currently the owners are NEWTEK,who made the Video Toaster.

Any Hackers Care to get the Source Code and upgrade this App????

Someone Please!

I VJ with this Application regularly alongside SCALA MM300.

I actually meant the unexpanded a1200 comment for the Iran Invasion Plus. Might be on to something there if it's possible. Perhaps the US just needed a miggy this whole time.   ;-)

As far as memory goes, I have been using a blizzard IV w/ 64mb and I'm going to expand to 128mb one of these days. I assume that would be enough for simple animations? With invision the effects are only available with the rare card but I can use dctv as a workaround? I'd like to test invision to see what it can do for us as I currently use performer 2.0 and trigger the images with midi notes.

Would an mpeg to anim conversion work for small video loops? Also that sound key utility sounds interesting but it's very similar to what I'm using now with the midi anyway.

Let's keep this discussion going! I'm very intrigued by this invision program. What number was the last to be released for performer?

@amigan24

amigan24....what I am trying to tell you in a nutshell is, to get rid of INVISION. it is 100% useless compared to PERFORMER

INVISION and PERFORMER are Identical.....witht he exception that Performer is way better and has more features (the only one lacking is that you cant use the LIVE! video board, but who cares! that board only exists for A500 and A2000)

Yes you can convert MPEG loops into Anim5, but why use MPEG?  thats a Crappy format.....Use BLUERAY or DVD or DV video.

The Higher the format you convert from, the higher the quality of your anim5's will be.

go to  www.digitaljuice.com

buy a cheap jumpbacks DVD, download the Juicer 2 (or 3.0) wich is FREE.
Convert the Motion loops to JPEG frames (at 100% quality)   then batch convert the JPEGS into IFF HAM8 resolution to 352x240  or 720x240 for DCTV

use SCALA MM300 or anim workshop to recompile the animation into anim5

now watch and be amazed!

PS: if running from SCALA, save them as anim8 which will make the anims runs faster.

Thanks for the tips!

I installed Juicer but it ran pretty horribly on the mac (work computer). Perhaps it not for us currently. As far as SCALA goes it's close to impossible to find a used / new disk or downloadable file afaik. If someone wants to point me to somewhere I can purchase or download it that would be fantastic, until then we are going to have to stick with an mpeg converter on aminet.

Still interested in invision plus however. Was 2.0 the highest version of performer?

Elan performer 2.09 or something like that was the last version.

Why do you still want to use INVISION PLUS?  it does less than PERFORMER.

I'd like to have it because I have the Live! board (A500 version), and no software for it, other than the original A1000 install disk, which I'm not even sure if it works..
