ADF on a real honest to goodness Amiga
« on: September 04, 2003, 09:23:44 AM »
So, there I was, terribly hopeful that the day had come that I could put all those games on floppy that only run with the floppy (like ALL the old games) onto my A1200's hard disk. Not being aware of any other way to run them, I used AmigaUAE (I think that's the name). Is it normal that it would run so miserably slow that AmigaUAE is effectively unusable on an A1200 at 020? I know. I know. Might be long past time for an upgrade. I was just wondering how to run those darn ADFs off a hard disk with a real Amiga. I guess I was also hoping to revisit the old games I used to enjoy until I got the 1200 and they didn't work anymore.

I wouldn't be surprised that UAE is unusable on an 020 - remember thats its emulating the custom chipset - in software!

Transferring the ADF to a disk is easy - grab ADF2Disk from Aminet and use that.  If you want to run the games of the hard drive, there are various installers around like WHDLoad and JST that should do the job.
