If anyone cares for 18 Gig SCSI drives - in ~2 months I'll have a bunch of (appr. 12) SCA2 drives that will be going for free/postage...

Actually they cant, unless they were single-platter drives.. Because once the platters are "unindexed" the only people likely to have equipment capable of "re-indexing" them is the manufacturer...

They would likely have ended up going through an industrial shredder for recycling anyway.

Sheesh!  Why the complaining and calling the guy an idiot ?   He was bored and made a tree out of hardware to be junked!  Pretty cool really!

Yeah I kind of like it too. Looks like the kind of tree you would find at the home of Robbie the Robot.

Plus matching the sets that were each drive, deal with little dents, scratches and dirt - very hard to accomplish on that scale.

Yeah, that was my thought as well.

I doubt he used fully functional drives for this project.

IMHO there is no such thing as stupid people. Or intelligent people for that matter.

What I am trying to say is it is the action not the person which would be lacking intelligence.

Just stupid moments, and intelligent moments. We all have both.

However I don't think this is anywhere near as stupid as is cool. I myself have wallpapered two rooms of my house with dead 3"1/4 floppies. Photos coming to the images section soon...
