Quick Deneb Question
« on: December 16, 2008, 12:52:59 AM »
I just got my Deneb from AmigaKit. I have a question about setting up an ethernet connection with Genesis. I have installed the deneb and software. What driver do I need to use for Genesis to see the network adapter?

You just need a compatible adapter - and poisedon will recognize it and throw a device driver into memory (check the poisedon logs and you can find the name).  Punch that into your TCP/IP stack prefs and you should be good to go.

I got mine from AmigaKit...it was a bit difficult to find out exactly what adapters are supported.  Best to get one from there.

I also got my Deneb from AmigaKit and I am looking for a USB Ethernet adapter, but I would like a wireless one, if there are any wireless adapters that are supported.

I think the ones AmigaKit sells are somewhere between $35-$50 to purchase, but Tiger Direct sells USB Ethernet adapters for $9.95-$24.95, but they are not known to be supported or not yet.  Probably not!

I will probably just order from AmigaKit to get mine and be safe and supported.  Better to pay a bit more and support a great Amiga retailer I think.
How are you helping the Amiga community? :)

AFAIK wireless devices are not supported right now. I have a D-LINK DUB-E100 which works. These $5 adapters from ebay are tricky because some work and some not even if they have the right chipset. Totally weird.

This might help you.  It's a link to a thread I made ages ago when I got an cheap USB Ethernet adapter working on my A4000 with the Deneb:
