Blur are returning to their original line-up for a gig in Hyde Park, London on the 3rd of July 2009. Tickets went on sale at 08:58 this morning and by 09:01 were sold out.....

Well both Blur and Depeche Mode are my 2 childhood bands... But DM are better live and I want to go to Germany... So they get the win ;-)

Oh if I had known you liked Blur then I would have let you know about the gig last night! If you manage to get a ticket for the 3rd then I'll see you there! :-)

I always wanted to go and see Blur when I was growing up but for some reason I never did. When they changed the lineup I lost the urge, so the reunion gig is really fulfilling a childhood dream :-)  Really hope they play Jubilee :-D

Blur produced some of my favourite songs, I really enjoyed them. They got me through some difficult times between 1997 and 1999 on night shift in JHB. There is a lot of nostalgia associated with their music for me, because at the time I was going out with what turned out to be the best girlfriend I ever had. We only split because she wanted kids and wouldn't leave SA at all.

But live gigs and concerts don't interest me at all. I'm the sort of person who listens to this music in private, quietly. That's how I enjoy it the most: kind of like a meal, almost in a selfish manner.

Anyway I am glad for all of you who can go to that event and I raise my coffee mug in appreciation of Blur and their great music!
