You have a CPU card that says A3200/A3400 rev1.0 and has both a 68020 and a 68030?

That's one cool piece of history you have there Red, shame (for me) that it'll go for a lot more than I'm willing to part with. Good luck to Red and whoever the winning bidder is :-)

Red,
i think thats a good idea (about the pictures).
if hardware book (amiga) does not want it, then pls email them to us, we will host the images of the motherboard etc (particularly) the amiga 4000 one mentioned here.

I've emailed the pics to you, do what you wish with them. The picture quality are not all that great. Conditions here in the workkshop are not very ideal for photography :-/

The card itself isn“t very rare, but I guess the two mounted CPUs could count as rare. According to BBOAH it seems the card is switchable between the two..

Odd.. Could have sworn Red posted and said the A3630 wasnt the A3200/A3400.. :-)

Anyway, on BBOAH you can read the following:
"The A3200/A3400 printed on the PCB actually refers to the machine the card was to be installed in. Apparently Commodore actually considered calling the 020 based A4000's the A3200 and 030 based A4000's the A3400. "

That looks like a developer's machine to me!  When they were working on Brilliance, Digital Creations had a couple of these black A4000 prototypes.  They had Brilliance well on its way before the A4000 was actually released.

Didn't see the inside, heck...I was under non-disclosure and wasn't allowed to talk about even having seen one at the time.

I've seen one other A4000 prototype since, in the pile of machines at 4 Jays store in Antioch.

Your machine is truly a rare bird!  Good luck on the auction.

The cpu board is 020/030 which is switchable by the jumpers there, rather ingenious really, makes the card ideal for hw hack development too

That processor card is a "Developers" board Jim. I sold one to another A.Org user some years ago. The jumpers by the Slot Connector had to be set correctly to select one CPU or the other. You will also find the CPU on that card is a FULL 030 & not an EC one!  ;-)
