Hi,
if the Laser Pickup get unaniligned, this means that it's dying.
As i can see, it looks like a Sony KSS 210 series or JVC optima 1 or 3.
Both are avaible at low price on the net.

@Red : can you tell us which information you can found on the laser pickup sticker ? (sometimes it's under..).
Keep the Faith !

Funny to see the old-fashioned Commodore logo on the orange FCC warning sticker. They probably had a pile of leftovers from the 8-bit days =).

I didn't know you could retract a bid. That's lame. That's unauctionlike. :-( :madashell: I know that one time I bid on something and decided later that I really didn't want it, but I just hoped that someone would outbid me. I was glad that someone eventually did, but I would have paid for it anyway if they hadn't because that's how an auction works.

I dont see what the problem is? If eBay provides a mechanism for retracting bids, whats the problem? And red, does it warrant a post here just to tell all and sundry that this particular eBayer has joined your block list??

Yeah, I see a problem with bidding and then retracting.  If nothing else it violates the spirit of an auction.  Many people could look at an item and decide the price was already too high for them and not look again at the item.  Later bids are retracted which changes the price but the lower price may not be seen by people who have already bypassed the item.  I truly believe the system to retract bids is there for honest mistakes such as bidding $2000 instead of $200, or mistype and put a comma in the number instead of a period to seperate dollars and cents and see what happens.  I did that once.  It is not a wrong amount entered, as most people use for a reason, when you retract the bid and don't enter another one.  If you don't think EBay frowns on retractions go read the retraction guidelines.

Maybe thats why the bid was retracted, all we know is that *the ban* is mentioned here for some reason but I agree in principle that is why the mechanism exists.

Before you let it go are you going to be able to dump the ROM contents for poor Oli_HD who has one but with possibly faulty ROMS?

Go on, be a sport.

That would seem like the most reasonable thing to do!!!

No, dannyp1 has it dead on. The high bid that was retracted was $600 which is no accident. That is not the intention of eBay's retraction system and it is a possible serious impediment to the auction process. We are not talking about a small ticket item, dannyp1 is correct in the fact that many a possible bidder could be put off by a bogus bid.

If it was an easy process, no problem. However, I don't have a system set up in place to create a floppy fron an ADF atm. My workshop is filled with diescted computers atm.

I wish some asked earlier.. Maybe I can dig out a A4000...

Naa no need. Another CDTV CR owner sent me a copy of one rom Im yet to burn Ive yet to try. (The main PROM on the CR at the front)
Ive also got the cdtv rom grab I did for someone that damaged the rom in the first place. (Not sure if its the PROM or the two flash chips on the IDE board)
I havent had a lot of time to look at it.

Good luck to whoever is bidding, its at $610. Im thinking I wont bid as Ive got enough miggy stuff at the mo.

Naah, I won't get rich. All profit will go to bills, debt and hopefully put a little back in savings. The last couple years has been brutal on my savings account, probably like most. Getting a little back will be comforting, especially since my (newish) day job is starting to look not so secure once again.
