wurzel: I suggest you get your calculator out, do your sums and add up the going rate for the components included in the system. the individual components alone will add up to not far off his £950 asking price. and when you figure in eBay/PayPal fees and the amount of work that has obviousely gone into building the system - it's not that far off the mark.

why do people hate to see regular people make a little money? it's not this guy's fauilt that you're broke.

Looking through the US listings I saw a couple of A1000s that, while nice, seemed to be a tad optimistic.  Given the number of listings it looks like a number of closets, besides mine, are having a bit of a cleaning!

Its good to be optomistic...you can always settle for reality later!

Firstly, don't assume I'm broke - I'm not.
Secondly, why assume I hate regular people making a little money? I don't.

You're reading far too much into that.

I agree, it is around the price you'd need to pay, but £950 UK POUNDS plus £50 postage as a STARTING price is optimistic - which is all I said.

Check my sig, you'll see I have a good system too, but if I ever came to sell it, I wouldn't add the component prices together and use that as a starting bid.

wurzel: appologies, I was in a stinking mood when i wrote that and, incidentally, instigated a few wholesale flames not just with you - so it was nothing personal.

hmm, I guess the starting price was pretty/very high - for a starting price. but then again, many sellers use high starting prices as more of a substitute "BuyNow" price never expecting to get more than a couple of bids. this way you can avoid official eBay BuyNow fees.

anyhow, it appears you were correct. it was priced to high as in the end it didn't sell.
