Samba is what you need.  http://www.amigasamba.org I think, Aminet also have the 2.0.7 archive.

Go for AmigaSamba. It's a really good port.

Sharing files to the Amiga is good. But sharing to many files out (to the pcs), can really slow down things... If you don't have a 10/100 nic, a fast ide controller and a 68060. Remotely accessing files from the win 2k hosts in my network, is actually faster than accessing files from my own hd!

I installed samba on the Amiga. I can ping the
pc but can't seem to do much else. Granted I am
not very computer literate and I was rather excited
 to get that far.
I found something called Tango that I tried also
but it won't connect either. I can not go online
without using DHCP for IP type. Does this make a
 difference?
The docs seem alittle confusing for me, is there
a reference somewhere for us dummies? I did get it
on the net with the other pc's. That ought to count
for something right?

My goal is to transfer graphic files form my
pc to the toaster/flyer via ethernet. I have a 4 port
ethernet broadband router,and cable modem. 3 pc's
are connected o it and 1 Amiga with an x-surf card.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the link!  I got Amiga Explorer up and running. I haven't tried to finish the samba configuration. Is it as slow as AE? I may try a sneakernet with Jaz disks if I can find a way around the filename problem. Any ideas?

Thanks again for the help

If you only need to share pc's folders to Amiga, then it's much easier to install only smbfs (from aminet) than whole samba. You can mount the shared folders only with one little command on amiga.
