Ok, so far it is struggling to load anything from CD. Maybe the CD head needs cleaned. However I loaded and played a couple games no problem using the built in floppy drive.

Testing will continue tomorrow.

Those are not leaking caps. That yellow stuff is glue. However as mentioned already, they might be dried out by now so eventually a swap would be good.

Nice find BTW!

Please consider uploading super detail hardware pr0n photos to bboah.com and amiga.resource.cx!

I'd guess CK means ClocK  and is low voltage 60 cps so the system can sync the video to your tv .

SF MIGHT be "signal from" or SaFe ,or ?,something that tells the power supply its OK to send power.

Put an oscilloscope probe there to be sure.

There also has to a ground or return lead or trace.
I'm also wondering if there isn't a +12vdc .
5vdc is standard TTL IC power supply voltage/
CMOS ICs often use both +12 and -12vdc(which can be derived from a 9vac source .

If the electrolytic  capacitors leak the goo is generally crumbly white and nasty;many assemblers evidently glue the larger capacitors to the boards.I have no idea why.

they are heavy, that glue fix it in the position during transport/movements of device > its not hanging only on wires. more force applied on wires can damage electrode plates.

home its understandable
too lazy to use shift key properly...

Youtube made the video very dark again for some reason.

Why the "UK" link?

...it made my whole youtube going experience stick in "uk." mode and I had to clear out my browsing data to get it back to normal.

Welcome 2 new women to the Amiga family, Grace and Beauty!

Anyone know what Grace and Beauty are meant to do?  I don't remember them being released in any other Amiga? Maybe they became Lisa?
Life begins at 100 MIPS!

Nice Ports on AmiNet!

Yes, lots of places document what they did.

Grace ~= A600 Gayle (Gary + PCMCIA + IDE)
Beauty = LCD controller + IR receiver + I/O controller

Beauty effectively "mops up" all the expensive discrete logic present on the original CDTV 1 motherboard which gave it extra functionality over a regular A500.

I think you are right.

Nah, Lisa is the AGA gfx chip. CDTV2 uses a standard ECS denise.

Any more luck with this little gem Red?

Testing the power supply with a multimeter the +5VDC, +12VDC and -12VDC all seem rock solid. This unit is now starting up without problem. I can load and play games with the built in floppy drive, but the CD drive is choking. I am going to try cleaning the CD drive head, but I suspect it may need aligned.

All in all, I expect she will be on eBay here soon. :-(

Dude, keep it! CDTV-IIs are so unique, I'd keep it unless you really need to sell it to make the whole driving a couple of thousand kilometres business profitable.

Hi,
I reworked TV of the same aera. Most of little and medium caps were half dry. You should change them quickly before a damage happen (and take time to make lots of photos before doing this operation !!).

For the CD drive, is it a rebadged Mitsumi one like the regular CDTV ?
Keep the Faith !
