REAL TIME CLOCK
« on: October 31, 2008, 04:20:53 PM »
Both my A3000 and A4000 have had their old leaking batteries removed and in both cases the metal terminals snapped off flush to the motherboard.  Short of engaging in some delicate soldering operations, I was wondering if there are any other RTC products available such as this:

http://www.amiga-hardware.com/showhardware.cgi?HARDID=748

My A4000 has a Deneb with an A1200 clock port attached, so I assume that the above device would work.  I also found a few other RTC devices in The Big Book of Amiga Hareware which attach to serial ports, joystick ports and even beteen the keyboard and the Amiga.
A2000, A3000, 2 x A1200T, A1200, A4000Tower & Mediator, CD32, VIC-20, C64, C128, C128D, PET 8032, Minimig & ARM, C-One, FPGA Arcade... and AmigaOne X1000.

If you have web access, FACTS http://aminet.net/package/comm/tcp/facts
is an app that allows the amiga to synchronize with internet time. I run it as part of my wbstartup.

Ah, great!  My A4000 is connected to my home network via the Deneb & USB internet adapter.  That should be perfect.  Thanks.  :-)

synchronize with internet time

I guess that's better than Swatch time.
