Cut and tie the black and red pair or cut and tie the black and yellow pair to bypass the switch?

This is what happened to the switch.

@Red,

Make sure you get all the brass pins out of your machine, what killed my A3kT motherboard was one of those pins wedged between the Zorro slot and the motherboard, shorting out some of the pins on the zorro slot.

I have long since sold my A3kT, other wise I would of told you which wires to short together... I just don't remember...  Seems my memory is going to sh*t since my surgery. :-(

No, I need find out which wires to cut and tie to bypass the case key switch :-? A quick look at the C= service manual gave me no clues. I'm thinking maybe both?

I would have thought this would be the case for a switch of this type, just connect the same postiive/ and negatives  together.

I have one that runs with the left yellow wire tied to the rightmost black (next to the red) and the red wired to the black to it's left on your picture, between the yellow and the red...

Surgery? I hope all is well  :-?

So far so good, had open heart surgery.  One of my valves was not working properly so had to go under the knife to get it repaired (thankfully that is the best scenario for me, the other option was replacement).  But since then my memory is not what it used to be, I think it's all those drugs :-)

But that's off topic here.  I wish I could remember which wires were crossed on mine.  But I think you should be able to just unplug the connector from the blue wire harness to the key assembly, it should boot up with the exception of your keyboard working.

But again this is based on a memory that is slipping. :-(

So how did you pull it off in the end?

I tracked the problem down to the power supply. The PS was putting out close to normal voltages according to the simple MM test, but there was no +5V on PG. I ordered a replacement PS from Vesalia (EU 220V) and bench tested with a 110V - 220V step up transformer, the 3000T came right up.

Next step is to convert it from EU 220V to 110V US.
